In 2018 Kris began opening the Yoga and Meditation part of the practice. First, she enrolled in a Yoga Teacher certification at Indigo Yoga in Caldwell. After completing her yoga training, Kris became certified in Reiki I, II, III, Prenatal Yoga, and Restorative Yoga. After the specific yoga certifications, Kris enrolled in numerous trauma-focused yoga and counseling certificate programs through BodyWise Foundation, PCPSI, and The Embody Lab, to name a few. After completing all certifications and her advanced 500-hour yoga teacher certification, Kris rented the space next door to her current office. Finally, after much-needed TLC, the space was ready for teachers and the community.
The mission of POMYCAWC is: Explore, Identify Heal and Emerge. The approach to counseling and yoga is one of holism. We see people not as clients but as parents, community members, and people. Our philosophy is that counseling and yoga are pathways to one’s full self-actualization. We acknowledge the full potential of individuals and believe that people are always striving to be the best person they can be. We can address individual needs by utilizing other modalities such as sandplay, yoga, play, and EMDR. Sessions are tailored to each service participant and are governed by the individual. The common ground for every person who walks into the doors of POMYCAWC will be one of true acceptance and safety.
Peace of Mind Yoga works to eliminate or prevent stress and anxiety in the lives of our members. As a studio, POM Yoga is a membership based space. Memberships promotes regularity, community and support for teachers and members.
